38 week checkup tomorrow!! *cross your fingers*

okay gals, i see the doc tomorrow morning at 1130 for my 38 week check up. im nervous, but excited at the same time. last friday i was 1cm dialated, im really hoping ive progressed and am at least 3 or 4 now. please please please cross your fingers for me. i dont feel any different at all...and i dont feel like ive progressed, but i guess we'll see in the morning. im trying to be patient, but i really really want to know if i have a Logan or a Michaela inside me!! lol ahhhhhhhhhh

I live in Canada too and I've never internal examination until 39 weeks. I was only checked for dialation for the first time. I haven't had an ultrasould since April. I've only had two ultrasounds.

Pretty much was Nadia77 said is how it is for me too.

I guess it depends on the doctor???

awesome! Hearing those words that the baby is ready is the best feeling! Its makes you realize you won't be pregnant FOREVER! lol

im baaaaaack!! i have great news!!!   the doctor did an ultrasound, said baby looks good and looks ready. then he did an internal.... and said it could definately be any day now!! WAHOOOOOO!  he didnt tell me how dialated i was... i forgot to ask i was just so happy to hear the news!! maybe i wont be overdue like i was with my daughter. YAY

anyone have any tips to get the show on the road?  i was gonna go for a loooong walk, and then MAYBE give in to my fiance and have sex. but.... thats kinda the last thing i feel like doing!! lol

noo hey don't. at routine check ups they check urine, blood pressure and listen to babies heart beat... no internal examination unlesss complaining of something!! they may do it further along! i am 37 weeks now and they haven't done it..

they dont examine internally??  why not??  what if you think something is wrong?
here in canada every doctor is different. with my first pregnancy the doctor did an internal at almost every visit. it made me feel reassured that things were going well.

with this pregnancy, my doc did an internal during my very first prenatal visit... and then at 36 weeks and every week after. he also has his own ultrasound machine, so i get an ultrasound at every visit. that is very reasurring as well. its amazing.

gooood luck,,, hope goes well for all... i am having a scan next mon i don't think they will check me, here in the uk they don't examine us internally at our checkups..

oh you poor thing!!  that would definately be frustrating!  and who really wants to walk the halls off the hospital when they can walk at home? lol   the baby really likes to play tricks on you!! hahaha....
hopefully you are able to relax and get some sleep before you get induced, good luck and i hope you have a fantastic weekend. GET SOME REST!!

good luck! I swore the other night I was in labor. I went to the hospital Thursday at 2am. I had been having contractions since 10:15 pm Wednesday night. They were every 2-4 minutes apart and getting stronger. I went in and they checked me and I was still only 3 cm like I was at my doctors apt on Tuesday. SO FRUSTRATING! I thought for sure that was "it". They kept us until Thursday at 11am and I was still contracting! So all in all I had contractions for 15 hours every 2-4 minutes apart and they were not changing my cervix so they gave me the option to go home or to walk the halls in the hospital. I decided to come home, I missed my daughter so much. Contractions have stopped now... I'm fine with waiting until Wednesday at 6am for my induction but yesterday was rough! Then I started getting sick last night after I ate. Needless to say it was a long 24 hours!

good luck! i had mu 38 weeks checkup like 2 days early and am 3 cm dialted and the babies engaged..... god so soon now hope yours has moved along well too!
