Good news and Semi bad news

Just got home from the doctors

Good News: 2-3 centimeters dilated! 60 % effaced (thinned out)
Waiting for some test results and will find out about being induced Thursday afternoon

Bad News: My ultrasound last Thursday showed the placenta is starting to get "old" as they say. The blood flow to the baby is starting to become compromised. I have another ultrasound scheduled for Thursday at 9 Am and that will be a big deciding factor in when to induce labor.
If the blood flow to the baby looks worse induction this weekend might be a possibility!

My doctor also took me off that stupid blood pressure medicine because after taking it for a week and telling them my symptoms they decided thats what was making me feel bad. I knew it all along! GRR! I am going to be medicine free again just the way I like being. I just need to keep an eye on my blood pressure at home and if it gets high at all she wants to me call and they will try another medication.


Just gotta take it easy until he gets here!

not sure why she said the placenta was getting old! I guess it makes sense if the blood pressure is causing it. Not sure exactly when she would induce me. It is a holiday weekend so for some reason I think it will be next week sometime if the ultrasound doesn't show something horribly wrong.

Wow... I didn't know that could happen.  Does the placenta getting "old" have to do with the blood pressure problem?  Well, either way I hope you get some good news this Thursday.  By then you'll be just about 37-38 weeks, right?  So at least if they have to induce you this week, it certainly sounds like your body has already jump-started the whole process a bit (being dilated and effaced already).  Good luck... I suppose if we don't hear from you after your morning appointment, we can assume you'll be having a baby that afternoon?  =)
