Introducing the long awaited Graham Lee Tiffner!!

Hey everybody! I finally had my baby! I went in Thursday night to be induced, but when I got there, the fetal monitor said I was already having contractions so instead of giving me the medicine to make my cervix soft, they decided to see where my contractions would take me. In the morning, instead of starting me on petocin, I was dialated to 1 cm and in a LOT of pain! My doctor decided that since I went into labor naturally, I shouldn't need the petocin and let me experience labor pains. After 19 hours of hard labor and only dialating to 1.5 cm, my doctor decided to go ahead with the c-section. I recieved an epidural (amazing drug!) and was wheeled off to the operating room. I was so drugged up with medicine that made me numb and medicine that made me tired that I could barely stay awake through the c-section. We were expecting a baby girl around 8.5 lbs and were going to name her Audree Lynn. All I remember was the doctors and nurses saying "oh my God oh my oh my!" and then "wow you had a big baby!" and then.. "IT'S A BOY!" We couldn't believe what we were hearing! All of the sudden this beautiful baby boy starts crying! I loved him so much!! Clint went out and told the family it was a boy and no one believed him! He had to have the nurse unwrap him for a second to show off his penis! :) I was the first person to hold him though. And I'm so glad. Everybody even Clint was begging to hold him and the nurse kept saying "No, the mother is always the first one to hold the baby." I was so drugged up that I barely remember anything but begging the nurse in recovery to bring me up to see him and she kept saying "ten more minutes, ten more minutes." They came and put him in my arms and I kissed him. I couldn't believe every prayer had been answered and my lifelong dreams had come true. He was finally here! The first thing I told him was "I've been waiting for you my whole life." And left it at that. I believe the moment you see your child for the first time is such a blessing. Clint was the second person to hold him and I do believe it blew his mind away. He came out weighing 10 lbs 1.1 oz and 20.5 inches long! He looks like a clone of Clint. Even their nails and calics are the same. It's incredible!
Well ladies, that's my journey. I went from the Fertility Forum saying "why can't i get pregnant? what's wrong with my body?" to my memorable journal entry "I'm pregnant Pregant PREGNANT!" to the September forum announcing my son's miraculous birth! I could not ask for a better life than that I am given at this very moment. He's laying in his bassinet trying to sleep listening to the ocean sounds and vibrating. My life is complete...

wow! what an amazing story! It really did make me cry. I was in the same situation as you, asking in the fertility forum why I couldn't get pregnant. I tried for 18 months. Then I FINALLY got pregnant and I had some complications. I was always scared of losing my baby but now September is here and I am due in a little over 2 weeks! I can't wait to experience that incredible feeling you just described! Congratulations on your baby boy! That is crazy that he turned out to be a boy instead of a girl!!!

Wonderful news!! Thank you for sharing your story, it inspires and encourages those of us still waiting for our little ones to get here!! 10 lbs, wow! Our son is already measuring 8 pounds according to ultrasound, so its looking like we'll be having a big one too!! I reeeeally don't want a cesarean, but if I have one I hope I can at least experience labor beforehand like you did (I know that sounds crazy to a lot of people, but thats just how I feel!) Enjoy every second of new motherhood.... CONGRATS!! So happy for you. :)
