Three things you should buy for the baby!

1. Get one of those tanktop nursing bras, I found one at Target for $16.00. Put it in your hospital bag! Right after the delivery I put one on and it was great because my boobs didn't just hang out there, but it was comfy enough to sleep in. It's great for once you go home as well.

2. Boppy, you should also take this to the hospital with you. I learned from the lactation nurse that it's best for the baby to be fed the same way every time so they get into a nice routine. Plus the Boppy will help keep you from feeding the baby all hunched over. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my boppy.

3. A sling to carry the baby. Probably the second best invention ever after the Boppy, although my dh would argue the diaper genie tops this one. Anyhow you can tuck that little baby in the sling and they are nestled right against you nice and snug so that they can hear your heartbeat. Then you can carry the baby and go hands free. As soon as I put bella in her sling she falls right asleep and then I can fold laundry or do whatever I need to. I got the basic one from babiesrus for around $40.

jenntanis, i am in the same boat, now being pregnant i need a 42H bra and i dont have the money to pay for the entire yard of material it takes to make one =) i went to lane bryant and will being using a regular bra with the strap extender so that its loose to pull my breast out and nurse but yet can wear it after wards as well. As for the nursing tops i have no idea but i DID find a nursing sports bra for larger breast at one of motherhoods sister stores for 16 bucks. and its perfect to sleep in with a full back support and no underwire for comfort. dont remember what the store was called but ill post it once i go buy mine...(if you still need more that is)

Thanks Nic...i was debating bringing my boppy but i think i will keep it in the truck now and bring it in once we move to postpartum. im so jealous of you, i wanna meet my little one!! how is bella today?

At my class they told me not to bring the Boppy also (BTW it's a u shaped pillow used for feeding the baby) and at the hospital the nurses sent my dh home for it. So I guess it just depends on the hospital. I did wash the cover once we got home. I would say take it in the car and bring it in after the baby is born.

We were actually told NOT to bring our Boppy to the hospital.  They can't guarentee that it's not going to be lost or left there, and the whole issue about germs in the hospitals.  I originally had it on my list to go, but the Breastfeeding class I went to told us not to bring it.  I guess every hospital is different.

I also have a problem finding nursing bras and tops because I am currently a 44DDD ( up a size and cup letter since being pregnant).  I was able to find a few from Motherhood Maternity.

Latrice, I am such a nerd about the stairs right now. I walk slower than a 90 year old woman up and down the stairs. I'm so paranoid about falling or droping her. It's pretty silly.

Thanks Nicole,  I have a bobby, will take it to hospital with me.

I will have to go to target to get one, if im not mistaken IMC when i was browsing the materinty bras i thought i saw some for those sizes, bcuz i would need a 42DD and thought i remember seeing the size but didnt have the money at the time.

I was thinking about one of those slings but i am so clumsy and all the bedrooms are up stairs, and im nervous right now thinking about going up and down the stairs.

I bought the med tanks oh and they are in the underware section. Anyhow I'm a 38D now and it fits fine. I could go a size bigger and it would be more comfy to sleep in.

Babiesrus has a sling by Amy Coe, that's the one I got. It's not a convertiable as some of the other wrap around ones, but so far I love it.

Thanks Nicole!

Does anyone know if the Target tanks fit larger sizes (38D or DD)?

Also--what slings to people like?

Thanks for the advice Nicole. I have a boppy and will take that to the hospital with me. I heard the sling was a nice contraptation to have and since I have a few people who still want to buy us something...I will suggest that. I am headed to Target now and will look for the tank!

Thanks again!
