Michele, that's actually a really good idea about taking extra vitamin C, especially with the cold/flu season coming up. I am going to do that!
My doc just told me to keep taking my prenatals. I have heard of this but never from any of my doctors. I agree w/ chantal. I think the baby will get everything they need from you. This is my 6th baby to BF, and all of my kids have been healthy. BUT, you can probably never have too many vitamins either. I have started taking extra vitamin C hoping it will help the baby's immune system that much more because I do have lots of kids and they do bring home lots of germs from school, no matter how much you try.
I have never heard of that before...baby will get all the nutrients he/she needs if you are BFing.
My doc mentioned that my baby would need vitamin D since i am BFing, but she never gave me the scrip for it...
As you know I'm not BFing, but I know that there are all sorts of vitamins for babies to take while BFing... I got so much info on all of the differnt types while I was in the hospital. Oh the reason the doctor does that is because brest milk doesn't have all the fortifacations fromula does, so one thing the doc might have perscribed was Liple(sp) because our bodies don't produce that naturally... But I wouldn't worry too much about it, if anything you're giving her more nutrines than what she really needs... Any who I hope this helps a little bit!
