Hey everyone, from 35MomOfBoys (and girls)

Hey everyone! I haven't been on in a while after our devastating news that both twins have CF,,, but thought I would hop on here and try to catch up on everyone else.  I love reading up on everyone's sweet little ones.

The girls are 6 months old now, and Hailey weights 10 and 1/2 pounds, and Hannah weighs 13.  We bought baby scales and weigh the girls a few times a week.  LOL  Nutrition is so important for them, since pancreatic insufficiency is a big problem for CF'ers.  But I am very happy to say, they are doing much better these days and now that we have the diagnosis we know  what to do to help them, digestive enzymes with every feeding and breathing treatments a couple of times every day.  Other than that, it's a normal life, and they are so happyyyyyyyyy and so cuteeeeeeee....  And I am loving being a stay at home mama!!!

Cheers to 2010, HUGSSSSSSSSSSSS to everyone!

Love,
35MomofBoys

P.S... by the way, I think i am going to change my screen name again.  I picked 65roses because that's how toddlers with cf pronounce their disease because they don't fully understand it as "cystic fibrosis."  But,, I just feel like this CF thing has taken over my life and I am tired of dwelling on it.  It's time for me to move forward and take charge of my life again, now that I feel like we are able to get somewhat of a handle on things with this disease.

Hi Lori! Thanks for the update! I think of you and all of my other cyber sisters quite often. I am glad to hear that the girls are doing well! I just took a look at their pictures and they are beautiful!

MaKayla is doing well. She is 4 1/2 months, is 23.5 inches long and weighs 12.6 lbs. She loves to smile and giggle and has found her voice! LOL I wish I could be a stay at home with her. I hate leaving her every morning! she usually goes to sleep around 11 or 12 and fidgets around 2a or 3a (for a changing or feeding) and then right back to sleep until 5 or 5:30 when I awake for work. She stays up until its time for me to head out...

It's so great to hear that the girls are doing better! I also don't know that much about CF. I have a good friend who has it and so does his sister. I know that a few times a year they have to do breathing treatments over at the hospital, but other than that they are happy thriving people. He's a police officer who works a full time and part time job. He's in his 30's and I know he said that every year they seem to come up with new treatments and medications. I hope by the time your girls are that age they will live a perfectly normal life!

Bella is a few days away from being 5 months old and oh my gosh is she pill! She's so adorable and so spoiled! I worry still about her gaining weight. She still has feeding issues and it drives me crazy, but as of last month she is in the 10th percentile for her age and that's up from not even being on the charts at her 3 month appointment. She also has a lazy eye, but the dr thinks that should go away in the next few months. Overall I think she's doing good.

I am still taking xoloft because of the severe ppd I had. I feel so much better and hope to ween off the meds in the next few months. I only have maybe 1 or 2 bad days a month now and I think even that is mostly pms related.

Anyhow it's nice to hear from you again. Keep in touch.

Oh I am so jealous of you two:)  Wish i could be a stay home mom.

It is so good to hear from you and im glad the girls are doing well.  Like Michele said, i also pray for all my MH friends and families, i am so thankful for this site and the people that it has brought into my life.  I look at some of the other forums where women had babies and they dont even talk on the forum anymore, im glad you gals still check in on here:)

Only thing i no about CF is what i needed to learn for school and what stuck with me, i never had a client who had it.  But like you said take charge of your life, you no the diagnosis and what you need to do to treat it.  Have Fun and Love your Babies for time waits on no one.  Im here if you need to vent or jus chat

Trinity is such a handful, it seems like everyday she does something new, while being preggo i had two part time jobs, when i went on leave i new i was not going to return back to the nursing home, i then quit the hospital job the end of december, i could not bare those 12 hour shifts anymore and then come home to a baby who needed all my attention and still  pay attention to my 14 yr old.  So now i am working part time, 2 days a week doing a private duty case with a 15yr old boy, it is much easier and laid back.  Im hoping to get another case to work 2more days.

I am so happy to hear from you and get an update.  You and your girls are in my prayers every night.  I always pray for my MH friends and their babies and families.  You are all so important to me.  Although I don't know a lot about CF, I am here anytime you need to vent or just get frustrated.  I can only imagine how hard it must be at times.  I have been having to give Mary breathing treatments also but only due to some congestion in her chest that started right before Christmas.  After a week, it had not gotten better on its own so I took her back in and they gave me some medicine for my machine.  So I know how hard it is to fit that into a busy day and can only imagine w/ 2 how much harder it must be.

And I am so glad you are getting to be a stay at home mom now as well.  I decided after Mary I would stay home as well and I am enjoying it.  I do miss the adult interaction from working but was so relieved after having Mary that I would not have to go back to work.  I dreaded it after my others and would stay up all night the night before crying and would miss them greatly when I would go to work!

Happy New Year and tonssssssssssssssss of hugsssssssssssss going to your and your beautiful sweeties!!!!
