Need some advice on what to do - Lilys sleep pattern

Looks like i will be going back to work in the next couple of weeks, which i knew would happen eventually, i'm not ready yet but we are running out of money. My DH has started a new job he starts at 11pm and is home by 8am. Lily over the last couple of weeks has been really out of sorts, don't know weather to put it down to teething or what. I have a night time routine with her, she has her dinner, then a bath, we sit down read a book, then she has a bottle and then bed. Well it all goes to plan until i place her in her cot she stays asleep for like 2 mins and then she is standing up screaming. I have tried letting her cry it out, it breaks my heart having to sit here listening to her, and once she wakes up for her bottle at 11.30pm its just so hard to get her back to sleep. I mean its almost 1 am and i am still sitting here holding her, i have tried putting her down 4 times already and she wont have a bar of it! I don't know what to do i am exhausted and i can barely drag myself out of bed when she is up at 5 - 6 ish every morning. Any advise would be great cause i don't know how i will be able to work, study and do this with little sleep every night

Why dont you offer your baby your breast when she is up at 11:30, sometimes they just like to stick to the mother and sleep longer.
Its not easy to be working in office and doing these night shifts, so even i offer her my breast during nights as i just cant get over the zombie feeling at wrk when she is up like 4 times at night!.
Once she sleeps, use the bottle feed for the early morning or mid-night feed.it will help u rest.

Hey girl!  I am going through the same thing.  I used Cry It Out (and yes it is heartbreaking) and Cash has been sleeping through the night for a while now.  Well, now he has figured out how to pull up and he is doing the same thing Lilly is doing!!  Ugh!

Hi Therese, im not sure what to say to that, I would think its not normal, babies should be able to sleep for a few hours(especially at the age they are now) and be able to go back to sleep after bottle.  Could it be something more than teething, how long has she been sleeping in her cot.  Trinity still sleeps with me, i have tried putting her in her crib and she does not sleep long in it(shouldve put her in it from the begining, now im paying for it).  How long have you had this routine for her.  Also how long has it been going on that she dont sleep.

Sometimes when trinity is cranky and fussy and wont sleep, i give her a little tylenol and it seems to help, im starting to figure somethings out, like teething pain, stomache ache or her just being restless from too many naps.  Also try putting some cereal in her bottle.  I think trinity is going threw a growth spurt because she has started waking up every 2 hours again(like when she was a newborn) to eat, and she is drinking 6-8 ounces now.  So at midnight i put cereal in her bottle and it holds her over for 3-4 hours.

Hope this helped a little, maybe the other girls may have some suggestions
