Is it too early for Braxton Hicks?

Im in my 21st week and today i felt slight push or something like contractions in my lower pelvic region. I read at a few places that i can get these after 5 months, but still wanting to check if any of you lady's have also experienced the same? Or Do you think I should check with my Doctor?

With my first pregnancy, I noticed them at 21 weeks. My belly would just get really hard. Like Nicmom said, as long as there is no pattern to them, it's normal.

Just watch out for a pattern, but other than that it's very normal. I think a good rule of thumb is no more than 3 or 4 in an hour.

Not too early. I have read in a few places that you can start to feel them as early as 6 weeks!

I would say if they become too painful to call your doc!

Def not too early.  I have been having them a lot myself!  It's just your body practicing for the big day :)

It is not too early. I started having them the last couple of weeks.  I know a few other ladies in this forum have had them and know about them too.  I did a bit of research and this is what I learned:

- they should not be painful but may feel like a tightening in your uterus
- you may feel your belly go really hard for 30-60 seconds or so (that is what mine did)
- dehydration can bring them on so try to stay hydrated
- if you are lying down try changing positions.  This may help get rid of them.
- if you have them really frequently check with your doc

Overall they should not be anything to cause worry.  It is your uterus starting to practice and prepare for birth.
