Those are all good ideas, I have done much of my ordering from oriental com, since im doing a bottle them, im ordering the little pink bottles that you can put candy in and have the bottle personalized, and my sister ordered these bottle candles that are very cute, cant remember where she ordered them from.
My sister wants to send out individual popcorn bags, for the announcements, she printed a label and put it on a popcorn bag to see if i liked it, and it seems like a good idea. (and cheap) So i think i will be doing that. But everyone will get a email pic while im still in hospital.
OH I thought of another one. M&M's has personalized bags of candy now you can order online. You pick the colors you want and could print your baby's name on one and It's a girl on one, or whatever you want. Kind of expensive though. The candy wrappers is a much cheaper way to go.
That is such a cute idea!! When my little sister was born my parents sent out Hershey bars to everyone to announce her arrival. (this was almost 10 years ago!) The wrapper was HerSHEy and at the top said "It's a" with "she" in pink. I thought it was unique because everyone still gets chocolate along with an announcement. And on the back for the ingredients, was info about her. Such a cool idea! And I think it's perfectly fine to put what you need in the invitations. =)
Thanks! If anyone wants to consider my ideas for themselves, that's perfectly fine! I'm all about sharing / brainstorming for other ideas as well!
There's also a place online where you can order little round personalized stickers to go on the individually wrapped lifesaver candies. I paid like $6 for 108 of those. They say Welcome Twins at the top, with a picture of pink baby feet in the center, and Hailey & Hannah below. Too Cute!! I'm going to let my kids give those out to their friends once the babies arrive, announcing their new twin sisters...
=) So exciting!
Great ideas 35! I don't think there is any harm in letting people know what you need. I am sure that they may be happy to buy you what you need rather than them getting you something don't!
Our shower will be co-ed too! I did some regisering this past weekend. I even found a really cute crib I like on JC Penney.com...it's a convertible bed that goes to a full size....
I am getting so excited! I can't believe I will be 22 weeks tomorrow!!!
Yea and at all the walmarts in my area, the registry machines are "out of service" so it's going to be a pain for people to try to figure out what to buy. And it probably wont get scanned / taken off the list, at the register anyway. Maybe we could just insert a list of some additional items we need. We've got quite a lot of stuff already, but we need stuff like hooded baby towels & washcloths, crib sheets, infant gowns, burp cloths, etc. Things like that, you can't have too many. Especially diapers, and wipes. =)
We're keeping the list kind of small, (co-ed) probably 30 people or so, mostly family.
I love the candy wrapper idea!
I think it's okay to put the walmart and diapers thing on the invitation. People want to know what to get you why not just tell them.
