Anything hot really turns me off to food and makes me incredibly nauseous. I used to LOVE pasta, now I can't stand to get near it. The smell and the texture make me sick. As for cravings, anytime I see someone eating something on TV, I think, "Wow. That would be really good right now." I've thought that about pizza, popcorn, a Starbucks iced coffee (which I am continuing to crave even now....), Dairy Queen Blizzards (YUM!)... you name it. I have a bad sweet tooth right now, I'd love some chocolate. And I'm really into fruit, apples and bananas especially. And I have a newfound adoration for corn. Last night was the first time I was able to eat meat without it making me sick. We had some honey BBQ chicken and it was FANTASTIC. I had like 4 drumsticks, my belly hurt, but it was an "I'm full!!!!" kind of hurt -- which felt good, because since Jan 17 I've been throwing up and too nauseous to be able to get that feeling!
I am now starting to crave bologna and crackers, i did with the last pregnancy but have not eaten bologna since i was 12(bcuz we had no choice,it was cheap and my parents were stocked up on that when i got older i never touched it again ughhh). But it tasted gr8888 2nite lol
Erin, yea, haha. I had that happen to me for about two days but havent had it happen since. i remember being so hungry but nauseas at the same time...
I remember opening up the pantry to find food and I started to bawl.. my husband asked me whats wrong and i said, while bawling my eyes out ".. i am soooo hungry... but I feel so sick.... I just want to eat"
that night I also cried on his lap... i was starving but every food I looked at made me feel sick. I tried eating some soup, gave up after two bites after feeling like I had to hurl, lol...
I laugh at it now, hehe.
Yes I have had that feeling and I don't know if its nausea. I call it feeling quesy...lol I don't have the ordinary nausea and vommitting but I do have the quesy feeling when I am hungry. I drink water when I feel like that. It seems to work.
Thanks, Shannon, I will try the celery !
Do any of you tend to be hungry AND nauseous at the same time? I haven't had much morning sickness at all. It just seems like every time I'm hungry, it's accompanied by a nagging nausea. Doesn't seem to make sense at all. Then, provided I can find something appealing enough to eat, the nausea usually subsides a little while after I've eaten.
I think I am the lucky few, no nausea, no vomitting and I am 7.5 weeks. I have had no food aversions yet but I have said no thank you to a few things already but only because I didn't feel like eating it. I have been having this major craving for china fruit.
For those that don't know what china fruit is, its a dried up plum/prune that is rolled in this sweet/sour/salty white powder.
I am also having this major craving for hott food but a lemony type hott food...lol
So in nice and easy words anything SOUR!
You know, at this point I would be happy if I could just eat...LOL...I can't keep anything down!! boo hooo...
Oh my gosh just reading this makes me hungry. I have been having a really hard time with meats. I will make dinner and then as I pull it out of the oven or off the grill I just start to feel nausious looking at it. I can't eat ribs, steak, chicken, pork chops, roast, lamb, or even hamburger. Ick. I'm craving veggies and fruit.
Erin... try some celery! Celery sounds the best to me... right now, hahah
I had a lot of celery last night.... add some ranch... YUM
I am 7.5 weeks and have had some of the above.
Definitely cold things are more appealing than hot. I have had a big thing for salads which I am really happy about! I could eat a Cesar salad every day! Also cold yogurt, and puddings.
Last night I had my first real craving for fast food - a burger and fries!! I had popcorn instead :)
I like all things cold and smooth right now ... which isn't really that convenient since I'm here in cold, wintry Ohio.
I need someone to tell me what I can eat for vegetables! I am SO not hungry for vegetables right now. Any suggestions??
I'm also having trouble eating protein, besides eggs.
What I LOVE right now, even more than usual, is cottage cheese.
As some of you have mentioned, the smells of things cooking get to me more than anything else!
Certain smells of food are sending me soaring lol. However, no cravings yet...I've never really had cravings (except for pineapple which I don't like in any shape or form).
Same here for me Latrice, My husband loves Tilapia and evetime I prepare it, I get sick to my stomach. Ihave been craving peanut Butter and Jelly ssndwiches! LOL I can't tell you when the last time I had one before I got pregnant! Pizza makes me sick to my stomach now...ugghhh...Unfortunately, I haven't been able to eat much of anything lately...it comes right back up!
Well only thing im craving these days is rainbow sherbert, im not a sherbert person but its tasting pretty good these days.
I never liked seafood and the smell always made me nauseated, but it has increased when i cook it. (DF & DS) loves seafood so i cook it for them, ugggghhh the smell
Can't say i've had cravings but i can tell you that foods that used to smell nice to me now make me want to vomit. I opened my fridge door the other day and i had cold lamb meat in there and i had to quickly close the door again as i started dry reaching.
I've never been one to really have cravings, with both my other children i went off cups of teas and steak but so far i've been pretty good.
