29 week perinatologist appt. yesterday - update

Well as some of you know we've been watching an intestinal problem in one of the twins, and at one point we were told it's most likely cystic fibrosis.  Well at our follow up appt yesterday, even though they did still see a "bright spot" / inflamed intestines, they say it's not a major concern and they looked and looked for any other signs of any other severe abnormalities (ie fetal infections, downs syndrome, etc) and could not find a single thing.  So now they think the intestinal issue is just an isolated incident that is not linked to anything else.  Evidently these minor malformations happen more frequently with twin pregnancies, things just don't always develop the way they are supposed to.  They seem to think this may very well turn out to be nothing at all, but they will watch her at birth to see what happens.  And they also said they will do a newborn screen that checks for CF, as there is still a slight possibility for that.

Anyway, I took it as a little good news,,,  so I wanted to share it with you girls.  I've been in such a daze for the last 5 weeks since they told me there was potentially something wrong.

We've finished the nursery and I'll post pictures asap!!

That definitely sounds like good news!  It is so scary to think something could be wrong with our little ones but it sounds like they are just keeping an eye on your little lady.  All the best and 32 weeks will be here before you know it!

Oh BTW, the babies both weigh around 3 pounds each right now, at only 29 weeks.  Woo-Hoo!  (A weighs 3.2 oz and B weighs 2.10 oz)

My cervix is starting to shorten already and I have a history of preterm deliveries with all 3 of my previous pregnancies, so I'm starting to get really nervous & anxious.

Many of you may know Pookie from the August forum, and she had her twins the other day at 32 weeks,,, just out of the blue,,, never saw it coming.  (They're all doing great.)

And I am hoping and praying I can carry mine to at least 32 weeks also, when surely they'll weigh 4 pounds like hers do...
