The Tdap covers tetnus, diptheria and pertussis (whooping cough) and you should get a booster every 10 years as an adult. I know the last time I got a tetnus booster was over 10 years ago and several years before they combined the vaccines so I went ahead and got mine.
That is great that you got the Tdap. I am scheduled to get it next week. It is important that adults get re-vaccinated, since most little ones get it from adults. My doctor said that it is now incorporated into the tetnus booster, but I have not had a tetnus booster in ions.
I got the flu shot and the Tdap (whooping cough) shots a few weeks ago. All of my kids except the 2 yo have gotten their flu shots so far. I got them the actually shot and not the mist though. The mist has the weakened LIVE virus which isn't good for anyone with respiratory problems and is more likely to make you sick right after getting it. The shot is the dead virus and has less risks.
I never get a flu shot (I had Gillian Barre when I was little and am not really supposed to get the shot). The flu can be very serious for infants though, so I have thought about it. I likely will not, especially since Finn is not in daycare. If he was, then I would have gotten it.
None of my family is getting it. I dont personally want Kylie to be sick, but since they're only going off of the most popular virus from last year it might not even work. Breastfeeding will also give immunities as well to help as a more natural defense against any flu/cold.
