baby movement and pacenta location

Ok ladies i know why it took so long to feel my little stinker move. and why even at almost 21 weeks is very light. i found out today that my pacenta is in front of my baby :( My Dr. couldn't even find the heart beat with the doppler she had to use ultrasound to see it, that's when she told me the reason why she couldn't pick it up on doppler and why i wasn't feeling major movements like i did with my other children. Has any of you ladies ever had a front layin pacenta? My Dr. said it was nothing to worry about.

Yes, I have the same thing.  They had trouble finding the heartbeat, but finally did. I had an ultras sound a week later and said the placenta was in front, but nothing to worry about. I feel movement mostly at night when I am on my side.  I don't feel much during the day.

thank you ladies. i've read also that it could move as my baby get bigger. just never had this before so it kind of freaked me out. i read that the kicking that the baby is doing was like him kicking a pillow. i can feel movement but it feels way back.

An anterior placenta can definately affect it.  If the placenta is in the front it will absorb and mask the movements and even the heartbeat as you have found out.  I've never experienced it but I've read about it.  It is possible that your placenta will migrate to a differnent location as your uterus grows.  As long as it doesn't move in the way of the cervix it should beo k.

that is very scary but at least your doc could provide an answer and you know that your little one is ok...did the doc say if it will move away from the placenta?
