I threw together a last minute bunny costume for my daughter and then we attended the annual bonfire our town puts on. There was a huge fire that was as big as a huge house, it was intense! There was hot chocolate and a kettle corn, plus they had fireworks! Anna slept through the whole thing of course but it was fun showing her off :)
I thought about taking Kaelynn to the mall they do a trick or treat night there. I didn't get her a costume so I didn't go. Next year we will be taking her though
We live in a pretty spread-out country neighborhood. We have to go visit the houses in our car, and have to phone in advance so our neighbors are not caught without something to put in our son's little bucket, but we do go to six neighbors. I found out accidentally the other night that our local town (about 15 minutes away) does a downtown trick-or-treat thing for all the kids in the area, the Friday before Halloween. (I was driving along and there they all were, walking up and down Main Street, kids and parents alike.) It looked like so much fun that this is what we will do next year.
my husband went to get a costume for lily a few weeks ago and came back with a ladybug. it was the only thing they had for her size. we just went around and visited a couple houses in our neighborhood. ill post a pic soon.
We don't really do halloween anymore. It's just not what it used to be, atleast not around here. It really isn't even worth the money for the costumes. We have a lot of local churches that do fall festivals so we usually try to go to one of those or if they are too crowded we go do something else special with the kids.
