I was scheduled to be induced at 6:30 on monday morning. I was having troubled sleeping all night, seeing as I was very nervous and uncomfortably pregnant. Around 4 in the morning I started to get really intense contractions about 2-3 minutes apart. I took a hot shower thinking they would calm down but they continued to get more intense. I called the hospital and headed over at about 5:30. It was a surreal blur. I remember being asked questions and having wrist bands strapped on and needles poked in me while trying to find a vein. The contractions were the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I got a spinal block around 7 which was amazing. I couldn't even feel my contractions. Around 9 it wore off and they were hitting hard again, one on top of the other. The nurse checked my cervix and said I could start pushing. The doctor came in at the last minute and threw Silas on my belly. Born on 9-22-15 at 9:42 a.m. he weights 9lbs 14oz and is 21 inches long. The nurses were amazed this was my first baby and how fast he came. I'm so happy to finally have him here.
