Has anyone developed gestational DB's, even when they thought they weren't at risk?? How do you prevent it?

Yes hopefully but their is always exception to the rules.

Sometimes but its nothing to stress out over....the more you stress the more it can rise your sugar. I peed a lot and was always thirsty and i had non stop uti but that was pre-pregancy. When i became a diabetic i wasnt eating healthy or exercising

If someone does have GD can they notice with out the test? I get the test on Friday but I've been craving ice cream and cake. I make sure I drink milk every night. I'm eating healthy too. And I try to go for a walk every night. I feel normal so would I kind of notice if I have GD?

Just some...like pineapples,strawberries, watermelon...the ones high n natural sugars. Yea it ***** but im a diabetic type 2 so im more regulated then a gd but we are very similar.

I haven't had toothaches since I had milk: a cup of cereal every morning and milkshake in the evening (craving ok?!). But did you all happen to say fruits don't help??

No i wouldn't unless the test comes back bad. Just keep doing what your doing cause it sounds like you have under control. Cereal, milk and chips are really the only thing that run my sugar out of control right now. It justs ***** because i crave milk like crazy

If you're already eating a low GI diet then even if you have GD after the screen, you'll just need to continue your normal diet as you were previously doing and your baby will be fine... So no, I wouldn't think that's very concerning! (in very rare cases a good diet is not enough, and you'll need insulin, but its so rare and you're so low risk for GD anyway that you definitely don't need to worry about that!)

Paying close attention to my carb intake - I haven't had much bread for 24 weeks (dry toast for morning sickness and a pancake every other week) & daily exercise of some sort....should I be concerned??

Choose good fats (olive oil, avocado, grass fed butter, linseed oil, chia seeds), protein (fish, eggs, canned/dried beans, nuts, seeds, chicken, red meat, some cheese) and veg (anything, just choose more veg than fruit) over carbs. And when eating carbs make sure they're wholegrain. That's what I focus my meal plans around. That way any extra snacks or indulgences full of sugar or white flour don't throw my diet into carb overload. Easier said than done with morning sickness but really its better for any pregnant woman to eat that way (and it can prevent  GD). It's just that people with gestational diabetes HAVE to eat that way. I always think I'll have GD coz too many carbs make me feel sick and dizzy, but it never shows up on my test result. But I basically have to eat a GD diet to feel ok and it's so much nicer anyway!
