In all honesty, with my first I went to a class, the only thing I took from that was that I met on of my best friends there, 7 years later still friends.

I did a hypnobirthing (or similar) course, plus watched a 'how to breastfeed' DVD that my midwife lent me. Both were awesome! Had a friend who did hypnobirth plus the antenatal classes at hospital. She said she's glad she did both, as now she feels more comfortable at the hospital and knows her options if something goes wrong, but the hypnobirthing was much more helpful in understanding how birth works naturally and preparing for that...

Pregnant with my third, I took a birthing class with my first. I thought it was very helpful in understanding what to expect before during and after labor. Nursing classes can also be beneficial.
