Swelling

For any moms that had GD in pregnancy with terrible swelling/pitted edema, how long post party's did it take to go away? Mine hasn't gone down much since the day I went in for my induction (sept 3rd) and I'm worried. Should I be calling my dr instead?

I didn't have GD or much swelling before pregnancy but I swelled really bad the day after I had my baby and I was told it was from hormones, the fluids they gave me, and the pain killers, and it could last for up to a couple weeks after.

The nurse only told me that its gonna get worse before it gets better and now it's so bad that I feel like walking is going to make my feet explode open

That's exactly how I felt. Thankfully I could wear flip flops cause there is noway I was gonna get real shoes on.  I was told to watch my sodium and keep drinking a lot of water to help get rid of the swelling faster.
