Losing job due to high risk pregnancy.

I have worked in a call center since November. I am due with my current child this coming November. I know I will be high risk this time due to having the same health issues and a few more since my first pregnancy. I worry that with all of the doctor appointments coming up. I worry because I will miss an hour here and there at least every other week, that I will be a liability to the company as I am not completing my goals at work. The company I work for has maybe 40 employees between two branches and when I am due I won't have been here a full year. So I won't qualify for FMLA. I am worried about losing my job. I know I can't be fired for being pregnant but know I can be fired for not being productive. Any advice?

We work m-f and are open 8:30-8pm. I have switched as much as I can, but the latest shift is 10-7. The earliest I could be off is 5:30pm and my dr office closes at 4:30pm. I like my job it's pretty easy. We are a small company and they have never had to deal with maternity leave because all of the other women are older and not child bearing age. It is a good company to work for, just worry about providing everything if I do lose my job. Saving as much money as we can now because I won't be covered under FMLA due to the company being so small. I only get a week paid vacation after a year which is 4 days after my due date. I already know I will see the high risk dr every 2 weeks for blood sugar checks. Lots of ultrasounds and testing. Just worrying. I plan on talking to my manager tomorrow, just wondering if my worries are warranted or not.

Try and schedule your apts after work.

Can you switch a weekday for a weekend day ? Or switch shifts with someone where you come in later.  Most dr. Appts are once a month.  Your employer should work with you.

I would talk to your HR department and see what other options you may have.

Maybe talk to your boss and tell them that your going through a tough pregnancy and I know that they want you to be the best of an employee that u can be but is there away they can maybe work with you missing your dys.  Tell them u really enjoy working with them it's just times are hard and u need to take care of ur pregnancy... Maybe lower ur hours in till the baby is born ??? See what type of plan u guys can come up with to help u and to still maintain that good hard working individual they need u to be. :) good luck
