Anxiety during pregnancy

I know this is a touchy subject for a lot of ppl but does anyone else experience this? I've always had an anxiety disorder but lately it's gotten so much worse. It feels like it's harder to breathe a d catch my breath a lot so that usually kick starts a panic attack. Any tips or tricks on how others are handling this? Home remedies? Anything helps...

For a lot of women, pregnancy and hormonal changes do result in increased anxiety.  I'm sorry you are suffering this!  Do talk to your doctor.  Natural ways to help are to make sure you are getting extra rest if possible, eating right, exercise (which releases our body's natural 'happy chemical' --  most women in pregnancy can exercise but, of course, ask your doctor), etc.  Talking to someone can really help with anxiety.  But overall, sometimes hormones out of whack just causes this issue to get worse.  A key time to really watch your mood is right after you have your baby for that first six months.  Post partum is hard to deal with but treatable!  Wishing you lots of luck and know you are not alone

Thank you for your response:) I used to be able to exercise a lot more and work the anxiety away but now I'm just too tired most of the time so I think that's where the problem starts. I also think I need more sleep because I can never sleep at this point. Thank you agaim

Thanks for the tips:) and ya I didn't yoga almost every day and I love it, unfortunately it doesn't help with the anxiety though so I'm feeling kind of helpless. My doctor's too are quick to jump to meds but I don't have it in me to take them

Have you tried yoga/pilates? It won't remove your anxiety but it can help calm you in moments when you feel you're losing control a bit x

I also have an anxiety disorder and doctors are quick to jump to meds which I loath, especially since I'm pregnant and meds have many side effects. That alone gave me anxiety. So, I saught a therapist to help with the overwhelming feelings. I only saw her a couple times but, her advice really helped. Remember to breath. Seems silly but anxiety cannot exist with breath. Take long deep breaths and remind yourself everything is ok. Aroma therapy also helps greatly. Good luck and remember to breath. :)

Thank you for your response! I try to take a moment each time and just tell myself to breathe but sometimes it's easier said than done :/ I'll just take it day by day. Thanks again

If it's a real disorder and not just the normal mummy-to-be worries I think you should talk to your dr about medication.  Pregnancy is tough enough to get through as it is.
