Add some cheerfulness to your party by decorating with tissue paper pom poms. After the party you can still use the pom poms to decorate your nursery as a mobile. Here's some available from Amazon: http://superurl8.com/925432902816819
I would recommend you having a registry and for your foods you can go for desserts, cookies and juice. That will surely do!

I finally signed up for a baby registry at Babies R Us. I just put the bare essentials. I need pretty much everything from a crib to diapers.
Nothing fancy. You can see the registry.
It's # 54868039.
Now I still have to figure out how to have a baby shower on a budget & still get people to attend.
Ready to pop theme is a great theme
Hadassah2015, I'm in the same situation here. I am 25 weeks already, FTM and I have been buying only the essentials that my baby will need first. Saving $25 a week in my piggy bank for the furniture until baby arrives. Meanwhile, I'm distracting myself decorating the baby's room (Jungle theme) with little by little of things I'm buying at my taste.
I don't have anything for the baby.
I have not even picked a name.
I don't have anyone close to me, except coworkers and church people.
No family. :(
Look on pinterest they have lots of ideas on there. We made tye dye onesies at mine and everyone had a blast doing it.
I am due Dec 9 & had my shower Sept 28. Did early since we knew holidays are coming up and people are busy. Congrats on your baby!
Have a party FOR your friends. No presents just a catch up for all those people who you would like to see but are likely to not see as much when you have a newborn. The pampering idea sounds good but probably wouldn't appeal as much to your male friends if you wanted them to be involved. I plan for us to go out for a meal and a catch up and celebrate baby coming like that. If it was summer I'd have a BBQ :-) for me it's more about the people than the gifts seeing as I'm in a stable place financially (having not been able to have kids when younger has this advantage I guess!) hope you enjoy whatever you decide you do!
Im due dec 29 and I'll be having my shower in about 2 weeks. Most of my family and friends start traveling in the beginning of nov and I normally don't see them again until Christmas or sometimes after so I decided to do it in oct so everyone could attend. I normally travel as wel but this year I'll be at home patiently waiting the arrival of my baby girl. Oh and my theme is sweet feet :)
It depends if you are in need of baby items or not... I had my kids back to back and the last I had all I needed as far as clothing and furniture etc... Sister threw a pamper MOMMY baby shower! It was all about ME!!! Massage gift certificates, lotions, soothing takes for delivery room, robe and slippers!!! Just a nice day! Since I'm expecting baby #5 with no supplies (last child is 8years old) I'll be having a 'normal shower' I'm sure! Just wanted to share this as it was wonderful and thoughtful idea
A month-a month and a half before your due date. Just in case. Also I am doing a hot pink Minnie mouse theme. It's cute to me anyway.
Im due January also and opted to have a Halloween shower. Costumes and all! I didn't want to interfere with any month with a celebrated holiday.
My due date is in January as well and a dear friend of mine offered to throw me a baby shower. I told her november would be the best time for it, since it is not to far from the due date and people are not jet in Christmas stress.
