Caster oil

How do you feel about caster oil? I am 38 weeks pregnant with my first baby, a friend suggested that when im over my due date and still nothing i should drink caster oil. Apparently she did it with both her children and they are healthy. Dont know what to think. Research shows no trouble for the baby aslong as i keep myself hydrated. Not that im going to use it, just want some opinions. Did anyone else use caster oil?

Castor oil can be dangerous to your baby.  It can cause your baby to have a bowel movement while inside the womb and he or she can breath it in causing breathing problems or even death

Castor oil can be deadly to your baby!! Do not risk it!! It can travel to your babies system and cause him to pass his first poop, which in turn can kill him!

You probably don't want to hear this but the baby will come when the baby is ready! Try and stay away from the old wives tales as some of them can be dangerous.

You've probably worked really hard throughout your pregnancy - eating right, exercising, taking vitamins etc. Why suddenly take a shortcut now? Doctors and midwives do not recommend drinking caster oil.

Have you tried having sex? Doctors and midwives recommend this to get the baby moving!

And I'm n the sleepless nights you have to come, remember that you got this, you're doing awesome! X

Caster oil is a laxative which makes the intestinal track contract. Which in turn can give you uterine contractions. So if you can deal with the chance of diarrhea or puking up your guts and possibly dehydrating because of it then go for it. But I would definitely do your research first
