Being pressured

Ok so I went to an antinatal appointment today and the consultant was really blunt she asked if I was having my tubes tied after this one as this is my 3rd  c-section and my 2nd is only 10 months old I said we were planning on having one more then I was going to have it done then she started on about how dangerous it is after 3 c sections coz of scar tissue ect that I could die I could have to have a hysterectomy and that's really dangerous during a c-section I want to know how many of you have had more than 3 sections and if you have had any problems ? I'm now considering just letting them cut my tubes as I feel pressured

I know someone who has had 7 c sections and several other women who have had 5-6. With no problems. Get a second opinion.

I just had this talk with doc. It's not about how many u have had its about. How ur scar tissue is after the healing process. So urs might not look so. Good I know a lady who has had 8 c sections and another with only three and can't have any more kids. I had a c section I'm doing a vbac this time. Just ask ur doc to actually explain it to u soo u can know the reasons and make an informed decision

I'm going to get a second opinion from my doctor as she said they only like to do 3 sections really and I think it's coz of nhs costs here in the uk

I'm not sure if she told u that because u may have not healed probably but just because others were successful don't mean u will be. Everyone body is different and I wouldn't tell u to ignore ur doctor. What if u ignore it and something goes terribly wrong. I would ask her more questions or get a second opinion. But to ignore a medical professional is not ok.

Don't listen to the Dr. There are some reasons as to not have many csections but its still fine. My mom has 9 kids and she had us all via csection.

Personally, I think its irrelivant if you have had 2 or 20 c sections. Your consultant shouldnt be pressuring or guilt tripping you into getting your tibes tied! Its her job to give you the information, and let you make your choice. There are plenty of woman who have multiple births and are not forced to be sterilised. You have the choice about how many children you bring into this world, not her.
Personally I would say have your baby, and then have a chat with a differnt doctor about the risks of a 4th child via c sec, when you dont have hormones running through you. Dont make any decisons now that you could regret after

I'll be having my 3rd c section in June my Dr has never pressured me about getting my tubes tied he has told me after each c section of everything looked good on the inside an I heal properly I can have up to 5 but to give it a year in between so I have an I have never had any problems. Don't let your Dr pressure you into doing something you don't want to do go to someone else an get a 2nd opinion

I have never had c sect but I read many large family forums where I have seen women have up to 5 c sect, or even have vbacs after a couple c sect. I don't know how safe it is our what the risks are but it has been done.
