Question I know this question is out of topic but I need help and your opinions, me and my boyfriend are planning to move together we need a bit help with rent and I know DSS will help thoes with a low income ? What type of help is that called is it public assistance and what are the requirements & no I'm not talking about section 8

Section 8 or hud is what I would try to get. They will pay your rent in full. But you have to get on a waiting list and it takes about a year and a half. I live in nc. There is also low income apartments but you can only make so much money a month to qualify. I would call dss and ask about low income families. They should tell you what to do.

@momaof4410 yea I have a friend like that but I think that's section 8 where people have to wait on a waiting list

In Texas its called public housing assistance. But here in San Antonio my sister has been on the waiting list for almost 2years.

Its just classed as a benefit I think and theres no special requirements really just your low income. I think some people with jobs are still entitled if they cant afford to pay their rent :)
