Downy Dryer Sheets

I just washed all of my newborns clothes with Dreft Laundry Detergent and we didn't have scent free Dryer sheets so my mom told me to use one Downey sheet but rip it in half and only use one side and that's what I did . Will this irritate my baby ? Is it honestly that bad ?

I have always used regular detergent and dryer sheets without a problem. If I notice any skin irritations on the baby I switch to all free. It's half the cost of dreft. But honestly there is no reason to use special detergents unless skin allergies runs in the family.

It could irritate your babies skin. You can try washing them again in dreft,  no dryer sheet...or just put them on your baby and see if it is irritating.  I never used dryer sheets.  Also, downy will remove the fire protection from sleepwear for kids,  fyi

Youll be fine. Not all babies react to scents and things. It depends on how sensitive their skin is. When your baby is born and after a few days you notice a rash on the body especially around sensitive areas like the neck or under arm then just rewash them with out the sheets

Your baby will likely be fine. I've always used regular laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Never had an issue.
