Good or bad?

Are you ladies for, or against amniocentesis testing?

Against. Any risk no matter how slight is too much. My baby is more important then what the testing could reveal. Results would not make me abort or adopt. She is mine.

Against it. There are less invasive tests. I had the panorama  test. It's a blood test that looks at chromosomes. We we wanted the results so we could be prepared and educated on any conditions before baby was born.  All is well. We also found out we are having a girl through that test.

I am against it.. I did the Harmony test where they test your blood. It was quick and easy since I was already used to them testing my blood at the office..

Did the Dr recommend it. I was told i might need to do one because of my age but with all the other testing i have done the Dr did not recommend it. Personally i would not do it unless it will change the outcome of my pregnancy. What I mean is if there's something the Dr can fix before the baby is born if not nope I wouldn't

Definitely against. There is a risk of miscarriage or injuring the baby. The risk isn't worth it.for me. Even if it came back positive for a chromosomal disorder I would still keep the baby and love it the same.

the maternit21 test looks for chromosome issues such as downs.. if thats why u were asking about the amnnio testing.

There is newer testing now thats rather accurate. It's the maternit21. Its a blood test and between that and the level 2 ultra sound they usually will know something is up. I would never do a amnio or cvs test as its not worth the risk UNLESS they have to for some odd reason but from what i understand it's an option and there is no reason to HAVE to have it done.

Agree^^^^^ sometimes they can cause you to have a miscarriage it's a small chance but the chance is still there I wouldn't risk it

Against.  Even a small risk is too much to take. I would love the baby no matter what  and they can sometimes be wrong so whats the point?  I opted for blood yest for genetic screening instead. HOWEVER. My sistet had to have the test done because her daughter had gastroschesis (her intestines were on the outsude when she was born). Because it can be life threatening for baby they tested her
