My doc office does a drug test without consent everytime. If it comes back that there are drugs in your system you will be dismissed.
Nope they dont need constant unfortunately they can test you when ever they feel same as hiv test my dr just did a randome hiv test on me without my consent witch im not really caring for as i dont mess around but they took blood to make sure everything was ok with me 4 days later i got a call i was clean and i just sat like yah ok i knew that
Every pregnant female gets tested where I'm from at the beginning at their first appointment but don't again until they have the baby. And they call child services if you have anything in ur system or the babies. But where I'm from they don't worry about marajuana it's more heroin and meth they worry about.
I went to the ER a few years ago for severe chest pain and my eyes were blood shot from crying. when I got to the ER the doctor asked if I was on drugs because my eyes were so red I said no they were red from me crying he ran a drug screen and my insurance didn't cover it i was so mad.
Yes I seen that on my chart too I Think they should tell you
If it came back negative then what's the big deal? They are looking out for your child.
I don't know where your from but i was told that in the state I'm from it's the law that every pregnant woman gets drug tested at every appointment and if their tests come back positive for more than half the pregnancy they get the baby taken away when it's born and the doctor doesn't have to tell you.
They don't need your consent. They are checking for the safety of the child. Many people say they don't do drugs that unfortunately do, they can't take your word for it. Sorry you felt offended, but I wouldn't take it personal.
They absolutely are supposed to at least let you know what tests they are doing. However, apparently drug screens no longer apply. Especially for patients on state insurance "Medicaid", when I worked for the hospital I saw drs FREQUENTLY drug test w/o their knowledge. When I tried to include the code in the visit line, the lab supervisor called me personally and told me to remove it, even though the test was performed and in the patients chart. Usually, patients get an EOB from their insurance that details charges, but with state insurance, patients do not. So they never know.
