Lol. Sadly my cat and my dog were no help with the thing. They were trying to make friends with it if anything I think. I actually had my neighbors dog at my house one night when it popped out and this dog is trained to hunt such things. Instead, the dog tried to go after my cat lol.
This was fun reading! Now I feel like a baby for freaking out when I saw a mouse in my dining room yesterday... Well, I wasn't freaked out until it escaped from us..... Down the heating vent!! Our cat has been catching them like crazy outside but now its time to keep her inside for a while I think!
This made me laugh because when my son was one (he's eight now), I was watching my mom's house when I discovered an entire family of baby possums living in the China cabinet in the dining room. There was a live trap on the back porch, so I got it out, bait it, and set it each night before I went to bed. I managed to catch four of the little mongrels... I even named them John, Paul, George, and Ringo! When I caught the fourth one, I saw another running around the dining room table. It was late at night, I was there alone with my baby, so I did what anybody would do...I called the Sheriff's department! They sent me not one, not two, but three deputies to catch this bitty baby possum in the dining room. I so wish video phones had been more accessible back then because watching those police officers chase that little critter around the dining room, armed with a broom and shoebox was priceless! The police and the trapper I called the next day were all shocked I was catching these animals by myself. I looked around at the empty house and told them that I didn't see anyone else there to do it for me. Bottom line, you're not the only one. This happens all the time where I live. It may not be pleasant when it happens, but it makes a great story later!
See I assumed the wild is where to put it. It was a pretty decent size, I just knew it wasn't as big as others I've seen. I assumed it just wandered to my neighborhood (not far from woods) and that I was probably one of many houses it had gotten into. And that it just came to eat my dogs food and that's it.
Now I feel kinda bad. Like I hope it survives, but at the same time I hope I've kicked it out of my house for the last time. We've swatted it out the front door twice, it ran and we lost it in the house a couple of other times, and there were other nights I know it came in but we didn't see it bc my dogs bowl would be empty in the morning and she picks at her food so it usually takes her ab 2 days to empty a bowl, not one night. This has been going on for like 2 weeks at least. My boss started saying I had a new pet lol
Aww, that baby possum. We do wildlife rescue, and in the future, call wildlife rescue if you find a baby possum. This animal will not survive, dumped off in the wild. It will be dead in two days time.
To Suga, it's unlikely you kicked the SAME frog out of your house two days in a row.
Don't feel bad I just kicked a frog out of my house not literally but this is second night in a row. I know that they are harmless but the thought of it jumping on me or my 2 year old just freaks me out. I'm slightly into my 6th Month with my baby girl and I'm not trying to go into to early labor. So glad I'll be moving in my new place soon!
