Lady's with tricare standard! !

My main question here is there anyone who has Tricare Standard and was able to give birth at a civilian hospital and if you had to pay any civilian hospital fees ?  The Ob I'm going to now is a civilian ob and they accept tricare and deliver at the Nellis base here in vegas and at only 1 civilian hospital (Summerlin)  which is the hospital I want to give  birth at. I just looked up the insurances that Summerlin accepts and tricare was on it.  Knowing that tricare covers everything you pretty much pay for food cost and that's probably around 16 bucks!  I was just curious to if. I would have to pay anything to Summerlin even though they expect tricare.  Will tricare still cover everything?  If any of you can give me a direct answer that would be a load of stress off My a sholders!

I just asked my base wives and yes there is a co pay for giving birth in a civilian hospital. $17 a day with a minimum charge of $25. I'm not sure about the specifics for an medical interventions like an epidural or c section (like if we're charged at all) I plan on talking to tricare to find out

Have you tried asking on a base wives Facebook group? I plan on doing that eventually, your post was actually fairly convenient :-)

Oh yeah I have no clue yet.  I hope they cover most of it!  I've been reading that you'll pay like 18-25$ a night at a civilian hospital with tricare standard.  But that's not positive.

Well we don't have a maternity ward offered on base so I have to go to a civilian hospital, no other choice. Sorry I didn't specify. I was wondering about off base birthing as well

@Mrs_Phish yes tricare covers exactly the same stuff (: if you were to give birth on base with standard or prime you don't pay a dime other than for food.  My finances mom payed 16 bucks total at her hospital to give birth to him.  Thing is I want to give birth at Summerlin but I don't want to pay anything other than for food too!
