Ignore comments like "does it matter" people can be so judgemental! Of course you are worried and want to know how accurate the test is! These things need preperation for mum and baby and family! To learn how to cater for there needs and all the rest that comes with the package and ofc it is very normal for us to hope for a healthy baby and no one should feel bad for that! One thing I do know, the downs screening detects abnormalities and doesnt always mean negative news, has been known for people carrying twins aswell! Im sure you will have follow up to better explain the situation, whatever the case wish you a happy healthy pregnancy

I don't think I ever had a downs test with any of my pregnancies... Not sure about this one cuz I can't afford prenatal care. I'll love our baby no matter what

The bigger question is, if it is accurate test, does it make a difference to you? It's your baby no matter what.

I had the same problem with that test, it came back positive and it crushed me and my husband,  we went and did the special ultrasound and everything was fine. Now that we're pregnant again I think we'll skip that test,  it's horrible stress to put on yourself and baby!

I came back positive when I was pregnant with my first daughter. After an amniocentesis and ultrasound they said she was perfect. I almost didn't even take the test with this pregnancy because of all the undue stress the last one caused.

I also had a positive Quad screen result for Downs. I went a couple of weeks ago and had a targeted ultrasound and last week had a Echocardiogram. My doctor said not to worry because all of the other screensing came back okay so my chances dropped from a 1 in 231 possibility to 1 in 500. But because of my age (34) the chances increased for the possibility even without the quad screen. If your truly concerned speak to your OB about the other screenings available such as an amniocentesis (usually not highly recommended), Maternti21 and there's another genetic screening I can't think of the name. They are geared to better detect genetic disorders.

It depends on which test you had. So you know what the test was called?
