HE'S FINALLY HERE!! ♥

My midwife induced me at 7:30 AM by breaking my water (being 40+3, the next best feeling feeling thing aside from finally pushing him out!) After 16 hours of intense back labor, my Little Man finally made his appearance at 8:59 PM. 21.5 inches, 9 lbs and 6 oz and every ounce as beautiful as he's always looked on my ultrasounds!

I was given IV pain meds to allow me to rest between contractions but ultimately was able to deliver him vaginally - a very rare occurrence for women in my family. I'm only the second woman that was able to do it in four generations so I am very prous of myself! If you've read my posts before, you'll know I've had a crazy long list of obstacles that otherwise would have stopped me from doing so, but I had confidence in what my body was capable of - in huge thanks given to my fiancé and midwife!

No tearing, had some abrasion but no stitches required, but I lost an enormous amount of blood so they unfortunately won't send us home until Wednesday at the earliest.

With no pitocin or epidural, either! Thought for sure I'd break down and demand the epidural, but my midwife had faith in me.
