Pregnancy and labor drug testing?

I am 19 years old. I will be 38 weeks tomorrow, with my first child.
I have been in an abusive relationship for a little over two years now, and yes I am pregnant by the abuser.
He has his good and bad days. But there has been more bad than good.
He uses drugs. Pain killers, speed, etc... but I didn't know this until a few months into our relationship.. and I ended up trying the painpills (loritabs, percocets, roxys) snorting them btw.
Anyways, I ended up getting hooked on them.. and a year and a half later I find out I'm 6 weeks pregnant.. set up drs. appt and I have had parental care my whole pregnancy but I was to ashamed and afraid to admit about my addiction.... I kept doing the pills up until I was 7 months but not heavily, just occasionally.. I weaned myself off.. because I didn't have the will power to just drop them and I heard quitting cold turkey can hurt the baby worse than weaning off of them.. yes it took me a while to get off of them, but I finally did it..
I ended up telling my dr a couple of months ago that I had taken hydrocodone during my pregnancy but only a few times and it was because I was in pain and my friend was taking them during her pregnancy and I got them from her because she had a prescription for them.. yea I didn't tell the whole truth, was still to afraid. But there is a chance I tested positive for some kind of pain pill at least once during those Dr visits (if they even tested my urine samples for drugs) anyways I ended up having to switch to a different dr two weeks ago because I ended up moving back in with my grandmother because the babys father and I got into a physical altercation, (he punched me in my head and face numerous of times) but this time I called the law and we have to go through the court process.... but anyways, I ended up telling my new dr the truth about my addiction to pills and told him it took me several months into my pregnancy to get completely off of them.... he said as long as I don't test positive for anything in his office, or when I go into labor that I should be okay...
What I'm getting at is, will it matter if I tested positive at my old doctors office (if I did) as long as I don't test positive at my new doctor, would they have reason to test the babys poop? I just don't want to get my child taken away.... he's all I have besides my granny and I got clean and left his father because I knew that was what was best for him.... all I wanna do is be a good mother and now I'm trying very hard...and even though my current dr said it shouldn't be a problem, theres still the worry in the back of my mind....
Sorry for such a long, I felt the need to put as much detail as possible to help explain everything...
helpful advice, please? Would be appreciated!!

You were given a prescription by your doctor that I'm assuming you took as prescribed. There is no reason to open a case for that. Each medication,  even folic acid has a rating of what the possibility is that it will hurt the baby. Some doctors still tell their pregnant patients to drink a glass of wine to calm their nerves when it has been proven that any amount of alcohol can cause fetal alcohol syndrome, so just because a doctor says it's ok doesn't mean I'm going to do it because I do my own research. In an information age with easy access to medical studies make informed decisions

I had ankle surgery the beginning of my pregnancy,  was prescribed pain pills through my second trimester,  was told my all 6 doctors at my obgyn that it was not only safe but better because the stress of the pain was harder om the baby.. would they open a case for me if his poop comes up positive?

The thing is that now they check the placenta and that goes back to day one of the pregnancy. I have been in your shoes. I was 20 and got hooked on something along with an abusive boyfriend and didn't quit until i went to jail at 7 months pregnant. I am happy to say that baby is now a beautiful intelligent well rounded six year old and I have been off it since then. Your best bet is to get involved in a Twelve step fellowship,  possibly go to an inpatient treatment center and be as honest as possible with all doctors involved. In my case the state opened a case but because I was in treatment and doing everything I was supposed to including building a support network that could attest to that I only saw them once and the case was closed. Addiction is not about self willing to stop,  it is an ongoing illness that needs to be treated. You can look up narcotics anonymous meetings in your area they are free and will provide support and direction.

His meconium would test positive but as far as urine and blood test they would be negative for both baby and I.

I smoked pot for the first 7 months. But not heavily only like 4 times a month and only like 3 hits a session.  But anyway as long as the baby comes out negative I think you'll be ok

Not sure where you are but it MASS they automatically test every baby's first poop and like michelle said it can go back to the second trimester. If it turns up positive there will be an automatic call to DCF. HOWEVER, since you were honest with your new doctor, the positive test wouldnt be a problem, he would explain your story to.DCF and they will ask you a few questions and thats the extent of it. Im happy to hear ylu are doing the right thing. I was addicted to drugs for 5 years and getting off them is still one of the hardest things I have ever done. It is commendable even if people still look down on you, you should still hold your head high. Not a lot of people understand addiction. Good luck to you and your sweet baby boy. Stay away from the as shole that brought u so far down and you will be a great mother. You already have a great start!

Are you talking about his poop testing positive or his blood/urine? If they test his poop it can show up as far back as 20 weeks.

Usually doctors know better so if they say it should be ok, given the fact that u do ur best to stay clean... it might just be ok. You could ask him more about getting them out of your system (if they are not out already) so that by birth time, both u and the baby come out ok.

As long as the baby doesnt come out testing positive for anything!my aunt smoked pot most of her pregnancy and the dr juet had told her to make sure she is able to stop a few months before she has the baby !as long as you dont do any thing from here on outm the baby will be fine ! They cant take the baby, unless they come out testing positive. Wish you the best of luck !
