I got a call from my doctor saying that my papsmear came back abnormal and I need to have a biopsy done cause it could be cancer... :( what else could this be?

So did i. And a lot but. I would say it's just stressing and thinking about it is what causing your pain... I went thru what your going thru and nobody can ease your mind.. I know it's hard not to think about. it... ... have you gone to your  biopsy????? My bf told me if you don't hear anything right away them your ok. And sure enough I went 2 to3 weeks without hearing a word from the doctor.... my advice. PLEASE DON'T STRESS..- jani

Hi I'm sorry for the incomplete comment.. but I am 18so pg. And is the second time my pap came back with the same results.. my first pap I was not pg And came back I might have cancer cells. My doctor told me that in a year it would go way on its own... she also said most women my age (20-25) there test come back with cancer cell... so with that being said I am now 22 will be 23 this month. And I am 18wk and my tests came back the same .. I was scheduled a biopsy but (only if it was necessary) Dr went in to see my (lady) , the time I was there I was talking to her to see what was going to happen if a biopsy was necessary she had said I would have to have an abortion!!!:(. Once I was done she said everything look fine but still took more tests ... she had told me some times it can also be HPV.. I go my results Monday and said I was OK.. but it doesn't change the fact that my pap was abnormal..:( so after I have my baby boy in June. I am going under for more testing.. I hope my story helped in some way. But yes please don't stress nothing good comes out from stressing... as far as I know all this problem I have is caused by (1) abnormal cell just(1)!!! Can you believe that Lol... you'll be ok mom.. -jani

It's not uncommon to get an abnormal pap result after pregnancy due to the major hormonal change your body just went through. There are also several other things that can cause an abnormal result and unless your doctor has said otherwise or until you get further testing, you can't really rule anything out just yet.

Yeah mine came back abnormal while pregnant also and it was caused by HPV. It's because when you become pregnant your immune system isn't as strong pre pregnancy. An abnormal result means you have HPV which isn't a bad thing unless it turns into cancer. It will clear up on its own and I had no symptoms, most people don't. I also had to get a biopsy done but when they looked there was nothing there to take so it was cleared up by then. They did mine 8 weeks after my delivery. Hope this helps.

Its probably pre cancerous cell sthat they can scrape out after your birth. Its caused by hpv

I did take a test and it came back negative. Butttt when I was pregnant with my son I took 2 tests that were both neg. It took a trip to the doctor to actually find out.

It is never recommended to have a pap smear if you think you are pregnant, this is because the pregnancy can provide abnormal results. If you think you may be pregnant then do a test for peace of mind,  at least then you can go back to your doctor with positive or negative pregnancy test results

Your body usually can't get pregnant that quickly unless you started your period however having sex 2 weeks after you gave birth could also have something to do with it. There's a reason they tell you to wait 6 weeks because even though on the outside you may feel fine on the inside you are still healing and that activity can cause problems but wait for what your doctor says before you stress yourself out worrying sometimes it's something small!

I once also had a abnormal result a few year ago but it turned out to be a pelvic infection as I use to suffer with Pelvic Inflammation infections alot in the past so it could be anything. I know it's hard as I too thought it was cancer but they'll do another smear for you after a course of antibiotics and check again. Try not to worry x
