Step Children

How many of you have step children or has children from previous relationship, making your husband a step father? It's like I understand the whole "they should love and treat your children like their own" but why do people comment as though your sig other is treating your kid different just because you say they also want a boy/girl of their own? Is it so bad to admit there is nothing like having your own?

My husband has 3 girls from a previous relationship and we have 3 boys together and are currently pregnant with my 4th and his 7th child. I have been with my husband 8 years and his girls were 2, 4 and 6 when we married but like Kenya Range said, they have a mom in their life and call me by my first name. It has nothing to do with the fact that I don't love them or treat them as my own, but there's a bond with them that only a biological parent can have. Their mom is worthless and we're in the beginning steps of getting a custody change so we can have them full time and their mom can be the weekend parent but that still doesn't keep me from hoping this baby is a girl so I can have one of my own and have that bond with her.

I just hate people trying to make it seem like a person doesn't love their sig others kid as much just because they want one of their own.

I have a child from a previous relationship.  She's 11yrs old and I'm 31wks pregnant with my husband's first child.
My husband says he loves her like she is his, but i tell him it's different when you have your own child. Plus she's almost 12yrs old, so she is kinda her own person,  her own way, attitude,  puberty.  But he helps take care of her. So idk. We are doing well.

My fiance has a three year old who he has full custody of.  I love him to death and have been in his life since he was 10 months old but I'm still excited to have my own.

I have 3 step daughters and I'm pregnant with a little boy. Let me tell you how that went over! I love those girls so much but having my own child is something special. There was worry I would treat the girls differently now that I am pregnant or that my husband would start to ignore them bc he is getting a little boy. We've just had to be a little extra sensitive to them and make sure they are involved as much as I'm comfortable.

My husband has boy/girl twins from his past relationship. We have a daughter together and I'm now pregnant with his 4th and my 2nd child and I want nothing more then to have a son of my own. Not that I don't care for his son.. he's just not mine. There's nothing like having your own children!

My husband loves my son like no other, but he my son has a father in his life who he calls daddy and shared the same name and bday with. My husband won't ever feel that bond with my son so naturally, he wants one of his own.

We always wanted a boy but I can't see me showing favoritism to my son because she has helped me to become the mom I am today!!!
