Low Pap-A

At my fetal translucency ultrasound, my doctor had the preliminary results back from my blood test for the prenantal screening. It showed I had a really low pap-a, which put me at an above average rate of having a child with down syndrome(4%). That same day I did the NIPT blood test that is suppose to be 99% accurate in detecting whether your child will have down syndrome. The results take 1-2 weeks, its been 10 days Now and I am going crazy waiting to hear the news! I will be 15 weeks on Monday and I don't know what I will do if the tests come back positive. Has anyone else had the NIPT or low pap-a?

I had a friend that went thru the exact same thing. The nurse that gave her the results of the first test told her that for some reason it comes back a false positive and the 2nd test is way more accurate. He baby ended up being completely fine! When my sister had her tests done the same thing happened! Both babies are completely fine and healthy so try not to stress out momma! It will all work out no matter what the results are!
