Virginia, drug testing pregnant women?

So I just moved to Virginia, and I'm 19 weeks. Every time I go to the OB I pee in a cup, a few times I didn't have to go so it barely covered the bottom. I also just found out by some friends that they  test you for drugs. I got curious, do they do it every time? And what happens to people who are dirty? I know I was dirty for at least one for smoking marijuana (I did this before I was pregnant or knew about it because it was helping with being sick in the mornings). But my other question is aren't they supposed to let you know they are doing it? Anyone else have this experience? & now I'm nervous I'll get in to trouble over this, tho I know I'm clean now. Do they only drug test you closer at the end? Of course to make sure the baby isn't withdrawing off of like meth or something? Which I completely agree with.

I always wanted to ask. Not that it matters I don't do drugs but I just wonder if PA does. I found out I have uti from my urine test so...that's a good thing

I live in VA and just as most other places they always test your urine not only for drugs but for infections and protein levels. Most doctors ask you at your first appointment about drug use. If you are honest they give you resources and information. I'm not sure about the process after that.

I would only worry if you are still smoking.. they probably took your first time into consideration that you did not know you were pregnant and that weed isnt as bad as meth although i do not believe in smoking while pregnant.  If you were going to get in trouble you would have already. Relax and just be honest.

First visit they did and told me they were going to test me. I live in ky. I would think if you popped up positive they would continue throughout your entire pregnancy. But I don't think you have anything to worry about if you stopped once you found out you were pregnant.
