When Does the doctor start checking to see if you have started dilating? It's been 7 years since my last baby I can't remember all this stuff lol . I'm 35 weeks.

My doctor started asking this past week at my 36 week appt if I would like to be checked I refused as I am having a scheduled c section anyway And the the cervical exams do not give any useful information till or actually in labor. If you want to know I would just ask them to do it at or next appt
I'm sure the will

My doctors didn't check me till my ultrasound showed my cervix thinning. Then when it thickened out stopped. Then my water broke. They only checked me once with a speculum. Then we're checking me when my contractions were 2-3 minutes apart. And when I felt pressure which by then my contractions were one minute apart and his head was halfway down so I started pushing in less than 5 seconds. My doctor didn't like checking unless I was actively in labor.

Headaches are common and you should be able to take Tylenol for headache pain.

Hi I'm nearly 11 weeks pregnant and have been having really bad headaches costantly for the past week or so, is this normal and does anyone have any recommendations to help get rid of the pain. Thanks.

Mine never did until I asked for an update 13 hours into active labor. There's no good reason for it - the research doesn't back it up for women in normal low risk pregnancies with no signs of preterm labor. All it does is increase the risk of infection and cervical irritation and increase the anxiety level of the expectant mother. It doesn't give any useful information to the doctor or the patient.

Thanks .. yes I thought so I can remember being cheked as well just couldn't remember when the doc usually does so :-) so I'm guessing soon then as I'm 35 weeks this is my 3rd baby but oldest is 14 and youngest is 7 so it's kind of like starting over again lol .
