Thank you ladies you all really eased my mind on this topic I do have a question though when it was time to deliver did you have any trouble going into labor on your own because of the shots
I am currently on the 17P shot to prevent preterm labor for the second time. I had had 2 preterm births before I was pregnant with my son 10 years ago and because of that when I got pregnant with him they suggested that I have the shots from weeks 16 to 36. I had a good pregnancy delivered via c-section at 39 weeks he's 10 now and fine. I'm now pregnant with baby boy #2 and since it worked so well last time I decided to do the shots again. My nurse comes to see me every week and gives me my injection and I had my cervical length ultrasounds every 2 weeks at 16, 18, 20, 22 and I had my final scan last week and because I continued to measure over 1.5 I didn't need to get a cerclage done and they are not worried at the 24th week. But I will continue my shots until week 37. I will say that I did enjoy getting to see my baby grow and get pictures from every visit something that I didn't have with my first one. But the benefits heavily outweigh the inconvenience of the whole process. I'm more interested in a healthy full term baby than anything else. So do it love it and don't worry.
My specialists told me about the same shots but he made it my desition but he said I wasn't in NEED that much so I choose not to n pregnancy has gone good no complications and I'm having my c section on Monday but long story short just ask your doc/specialist what he recommends hope the best :)
I get the shot every week I stop getting it at 36 weeks I'm 27 weeks I had my first born at 27weeks it helps to prevent early labor but it doesn't stop contractions
