just feel fat

OK. So I hit 20 weeks, so I finally feel comfortable telling people that I am expecting.
I have a dress code at work and have struggled to find pregnancy pants in my size. Shirts no problem. Full panel pants, PROBLEM.  I know they say go by your pre-pregnancy size but I was a size 14 and the only pants that currently fit are size 22 completely zipped up and a size 18 unzipped. I am also carrying this child in my back, so instead of poking forward my son is pushing against my spine and spreading me wider.

I went to 8 different stores yesterday and the largest size was 16-18. I almost cried in my car. I am tired of tent shirts and worrying about flashing my panties because i can't zip up  my pants. I have tried rubber bands, but I keep snapping them when I sit down. My pants must be khaki or denim and right now i wanna cry. I go back to work in two days, and outside of those 22s i have no pants.

Big women get pregnant too.

I didn't bother buying pregnancy pants ...except work pants instead I went to the material shop and got a nice wide piece of clothing elastic.... I sewed a button on one side and cut a hole in the other so it fits with any pair of button up pants. I chose black . I also wear long tank tops to try and help cover my belly because I already had a long torso and cute little t shirts never were long enough anyway

Look online, I have a lot better luck than in the shops when looking for something specific.  I bought a ton of good maternity stuff on eBay, pennies on the dollar and helpful sellers.

Thanks ladies. I will try the ponyholder and the belly band. 20 more weeks. 20 more weeks.  20 more weeks until I hold my angel. I just have to remember that

I so understand where you are coming from. My last baby is just 21 months old and now I'm 21 weeks pregnant with our next baby. I didn't lose the baby weight from the last pregnancy so I started my pregnancy at a size 14 and it's so tough finding pants that fit. I work in an office so I still have to wear dress pants and blouses, but nothing fits well. Instead of rubber bands or pony tail holders, try the belly band. I bought it a few pregnancies ago and it's perfect for covering up that gap where you can't zip your pants all the way. They look kinda like a Spanx product, but they're not that tight. It's like a spandex band of fabric that I wear over my belly and waistline. It's snug enough to hold up my pants throughout the day and easy to conceal under my shirt. You can just Google "belly band" and you'll find it. Target carries them at a pretty reasonable price. I hope that helps! And good luck! Remember, pretty soon the pants problem will be just a distant memory and you'll have instead a special little person in your life!

Try hair ties instead of rubber bands. They don't pop as easy.

That must be so frustrating!!! I am very tiny even tho I am 30 weeks none of my pants fit but all of the maternity pants are to big!!! I am 5"1 and I weighed 96lbs before pregnancy and I think if only gained like 12lbs! So I have to wear only like certain yoga capris! To make it worse my hubby and I just moved to Lousiana and I would live live to be in shorts but can button any and can't buy maternity cuz they're to big! I have a belly but its not huge! It's so frustrating! -.- instead of rubber bands, try maybe string or those super thick black pony tails
