breastfeeding battle

Hi mums! I'm currently 20wks with baby number 4 and thinking about breastfeeding vs formula. My 1st baby was born at 27wks and I expressed for 9 weeks with the help of medication as  my milk supply was low. Baby number 2 was full term and I breast fed and expressed plus the help of medication for about 7 weeks and gave up then due to low supply. Baby number 3 was full term and again I fought for about 5 weeks with expressing, breastfeeding and medication before I gave up. My body doesn't seem to like to make much milk unfortunately. I don't have a problem with formula but I do like to give my babies breast milk. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and successfully breast fed for a few months at least. Fighting to keep my milk was more stressful with each baby so I don't know if I should just give this baby the milk I make without fighting for it and then go formula. Or try to fight to keep my milk again. Any advice is appreciated. Sorry for the long post

I heard oatmeal helps you produce more milk

Same problem here. I don't make enough so my babies have to be supplemented.

You have to do what is right for you. If trying to maintain milk supply is stressful for you, its going to hinder your progress. Your baby will get everything s/he needs whether you opt for formula or breast. If I were in this situation, I would opt for breast and see how it works, changing over to formula is easy enough. Good luck, just keep in mind that breast or bottle everything will work out.

I have 1 boy 7 yrs and 23 weeks prego now. I had this same problem. I am planning on breast feeding ( without the help of medicine) until I can't any more. I figure some is better than none. Good luck!!
