glucose test

Today is the day I endure that yucky drink!! My question is, I've been told if you drink it and feel a little off, to walk outside while you're waiting that hour and walk around to help. Anyone ever did this or encountered feeling "off" after drinking it?? Just trying to prepare myself!

Thank you ladies. Mine wasn't so bad. The drink wasn't as bad as I thought and I felt no different. Results came back find as well. I did see one girl walking around the office after drinking Hers but she said it was just cuz they wanted a urine sample from her when they called her back so she was trying to hold her pee instead of going and not being able to give a sample. Hahahaha

I did mine last week at 28 weeks. I thought it tasted good. Just like a flat fanta. It didn't make me sick or anything. Still waiting for those results though.

It wasn't as bad as everyone made it seem like. I did it a couple of weeks ago and I was totally fine. Take a book with you or something to keep you entertained to keep your mind off of what you're doing. You can drink water after the drink anyways! It'll help if you're feelin yucky!

I had no issues with it. No nausea, dizziness or whatever. You are not allowed to walk around, need to wait in the waiting room within the eyesight of the nurse. If you vomit from the drink before the hour passes you need to repeat the test some other day.

I just did mine last week (26 weeks) and they were telling me how nasty the drink was. However, it tasted good to me. Almost like orange gatorade. I didn't feel sick at all. I know everyone is different,  this is just what happened to me. I sat there for an hour playing games on the phone till it was time to check the blood. Everything normal thank God. So good luck in your testing!

For me it wasn't that bad I was allowed to eat before hand though.  And generally the nurses tell you not to walk because then you burn off the sugars and they're testing that in your blood. However if you do feel gross after I would let them know.

finger slipped!  lol however your not suppose to walk or drink any water during the course of the test as it can alter the results. who ever  id administrating the test is a healthcare professional  speak to them if you start to feel unwell. sometimes  the symptoms are just from not eating since some people are told to fast before it.

I had mine yesterday and was completely nauseated by it. I got very weak, dizzy, nauseous and very hot. I spent the day sleeping and vomiting from it. I hate to scare you, but that was my results. I will never do it again! I'd rather take the precautions of thinking I have it rather than drink it again
