Labour completely stopped (long)

Well I starting getting contractions Wednesday at 1am then lasted all day until they where 5 mins apart at 2pm so I went in and was 3cm dilated. Midwife told me I could either go home or go for a walk and be admitted to hospital. I decided on going home and in over twelve hours I was only 3 so didn't want to be in the hospital for ages. Well at 1am Thursday I woke up no pain nothing no movement from baby either. Went to hospital where they monitored her for five hours and her heart dropped a few times but I'm pretty sure that's when she did decide to move it lost contact to my tummy. Well it's been almost three days and I'm only getting painless contractions I guess. Is it common for labour to suddenly stop?

Oh no :( I can't even face shopping now and I'm nearly 29 weeks lol keep ordering online, it's so easy to return stuff these days that I can't be bothered to trudge round, crowds and people dawdling getting in my way get on my nerves!x
