is my job ok while pregnant? ?

Im about 5 weeks and work as a CNA in a nursing home. It requires alot of heavy lifting when moving residents. Can I work or would I be safer finding a new job?

I worked as an er tech when I was pregnant with my first. I got eclampsia that went unnoticed until I had a seizure. Please take care of yourself. Pay attention to your blood pressure and adema...and everything else. Don't push yourself beyond limits, listen to tour body. I delivered at 32 weeks and nearly lost our lives.

I'll bet you're in great shape!  Stay active and safe.  Your labor & delivery will be much easier than if you sat around.  Make sure you have a couple pairs of shoes for the week.  My sciatic nerve acts up if I wear the same pair all the time.

I'm a nurse in a nursing home and I'm 33 weeks pregnant...You just learn what you can and can't handle and be safe when needed...You will learn your body over time but I've worked with alot of CNA'S that work up until the day before they go into labor so I think you'll be fine! Good luck!

I worry every day that I go to work as a career assistant as some of the residents can have behaviour issues and I have been punched and Kneed in the stomach a few times now

I worked as a CNA with my last two. Had to go on bed rest with my last baby at 31 weeks due to preterm labor. You kind of learn what your body can do and how to lift without hurting yourself. I suggest to get help with any heavy lifting though. I actually switched to night shift with my youngest baby. You do a lot of turning but not quite as much lifting.
