I always said that 3-4yrs of difference is perfect
Each kid gets to be mommas baby
And the first one being 3 or 4 is already good on eating on his own,no dipares and more dependent and you get to enjoy the new baby
But than it depends on a person and the way the first kid is
Just my opinion
I agree, 3-4 years is good. My son will be 4 in July and his baby sister will be here in Aug. He's old enough where he understands what's going on and he had plenty of time to be our "baby". Anymore than 4 years and its alomost too big a gap. My brother and I are 7 years apart and my mom had to completely start over with him.
My first will have just turned three when my second comes along. She's almost 2.5 now. Shes totally potty trained, has amazing eating habits, talks in complete sentences and has accepted the idea of a new baby and is super excited. It just seems like the perfect time and she totally got to be the baby for this long. Good luck, everyone's different obviously this is just my experience.
It completely depends on what you and your partner want. My first is 14mouths and my 2nd is due July 15th. I really wanted my children to grow up close in age together and felt that by having them close I will get to spend more time at home with them both because of maternity leave. I hate working and leaving my son so being home was important to us. Also I found it hard to conceive my first and had a miscarriage be for getting pregnant with my 2nd so wanted to carry on trying. It aldepends on what you and your partner wants. When my eldest starts school my youngest will have free childcare so I can go back to work full-time again. If we had left it till my eldest was 3 we might not of been able to afford another or I may of had problems getting pregnant. X
I have a 6.5 year age gap between my first 2 kids and will have a 2 year 10 month age gap between my daughter and the new baby. I LOVE having the older sibling (who just turned 9) although i was worried they would not be close because of the big gap (I couldn't have been more wrong). Maybe its because hes such a kind-hearted boy that he totally eats up the whole "I'm the bug brother, the protector, and I'll make sure my baby sis will always be ok" role. And my daughter who just turned 2 and a half is amazing, smart, & a total goofball and has such a great personality already... so i feel like 3 will be the perfect age for her when we have our new edition in August. Although my 2 year old is a diva, I think she's matured enough to fully embrace the big sister role, and my son is super excited to be a big bro again. So yeah I agree that 3 is a decent age gap... it gives you enough time to understand your child's moods/personality/habits and allows them to be in the spotlight for a decent amount of time before adding a new little bundle. Good luck! It's so difficult to wait when you've got a case of baby fever! =)
I completely agree with Freddiesmum it just depends what you and your partner want my babies will be 22 mths apart when baby comes and I think I made a good choose cause they will grow up close but I still had my time to enjoy first times with my son so it was a good thing you just gotta know what you want and handle it
We will have a 7.5 year gap between children. Was hoping to wait until 1st was 10 so I could finish college and start my career, but God had other plans and I'm ok with that!!!!
My son will be 2.1 years apart from his brother. I think he's at a great age to be a big brother. He's excited, he can tell that something is happing. He's always saying 'baby!' and points to his belly! Lol When he sees a baby he always has to get a closer look. He is a very easy-going child so it makes it easier too. I wanted them closer in age, but now that my two year old is completely out of the baby stage I'm glad it worked out this way.
Everyone is diffrenet. No matter when you have your baby you'll be excited. :)
My son will turn 2 three months after i have baby #2. My husband and i wanted them to grow up close so since it took us three months to get pregnant we waited till two months before trying to get pregnant and we got it the months before his birthday and found out after so he enjoyed his bday and hes still our pride n glory even after this baby will be born. Just make sure ur partner is ready :)
I think 3-4 years gap is great between kids
thank ya'll so much for your responses! I'm also considering nursing school, not finding much luck with my radiology tech. degree, so we'll see! I highly doubt we'll have a new baby next year, but maybe the next! I get so sad thinking about my sweet boy not feeling like my baby anymore, BUT I know & he'll know.. he'll always be my baby! (((:
