pissed

So my mom is all like we dont want you to move in with Chris. I asked her why and she said because y'all aren't married. Uh and that has what to do with moving in with each other? My step dad is also mad that he came to the hospital last Tuesday. Not his decision on who comes to see me while im in the hospital. Not really sure why they are still trying to control every little thing I do. Yes im under their roof and I understand that, but seriously im 20 and need a life. Im about to have a baby girl and i found a man who wants to raise her as his own. No I was not looking for a relationship, it just happened. Im just speechless when it comes to the way my parents think. I dont care if they dated for two months and then got married, dont pressure it on me and Chris when we want to wait because it is not the right time for us.

Sorry just needed to get this off my chest

Exactly. Like Chris and I know we want to get married but we want it to be on our time not theirs. I mean **** he had been after me for a year and I finally said yes. Best decision of my life

Oh they have nothing wrong with Chris. They just think we are moving to fast. My jaw dropped when my mom said that, I was like we are moving fast? Uh who is the one who started dating two months before you got married and got pregnant before you got married? I have decided to stay two weeks after Bella is born just so that I can get that help from my mom and then im moving out

I was pressured into marriage at the age of 18. Worst fkn decision ever. You don't have to be married to raise a baby. My nieces dad bailed when my sis was about 4 months pregnant. She wasn't looking for a relationship one found her and my brother in law was there, he cut the cord, he raised her, she called him dad. My parents couldn't stand it but all that really matters is the life you give your baby. This is your decision don't let anyone pressure you into a life you might regret.

Ugh how annoying. Like why can't  they just be happy you found a wonderful man who will accept your daughter as his own? Didnt they even tell you that they wanted you out of the house when the baby is born? N yeah you're an adult allowed to make decisions foryourself and your baby girl. Dont listen to them. It's not their choice.

I'm 18 and definitely understand your situation. My mom didn't want me to move out and told me I wasn't allowed to live with my boyfriend and all this stuff since we're not married and I honestly just did it anyway. You're a legal adult, they can't stop you. My mom was soo mad at first but with time she got over it. Think of it this way, they'll learn early on that this is your baby and your life and they aren't gonna get to control that, and if they can't accept that then they're going to miss out on their grand child

Ugh, parents worry.  Then their worry turns into nagging.  I understand it in some respects but it is not easy to deal with.  I think everyone has to live and learn.  They may have their ideas of how your life can go and the right thing is for them to offer some wisdom in a respectful way but then trust you to make the right choices for yourself.  I'm sure you don't want to jump into anything and wouldn't if you didn't feel sure.  I wonder why they aren't happy with Chris?  Just because it happened fast?  I don't think they'd be any happier if you announced you were getting married soon either.  (just a guess).

Well, try to tread lightly so that it isn't a big family fight but you have to live your own life.  Sure, could you make a mistake?  Yes.  Everyone can and everyone makes them. That is how we learn.  And you are entitled to try what you think will result in your having a happy life.  And I certainly hope it all has a happy and fantastic ending for you.  And they should too.  peace

Your parents need to let you grow and stop trying to hold onto you.
