Your period can take a few months to return after having a baby. I had my baby in December and my period just came back a couple days ago, and I wasn't nursing. You can have sex before your 6 weeks is up if you feel ready for it, just take precautions if you don't want another baby so soon.

You could take a test just to make you feel better?

Are you nursing? Your period and all that isn't regular for a little while after you have your baby and I didn't have a period while I was breastfeeding.

It happens but it is doable if it is. Most times your baby and you are still healthy.

It happens all the time. (It has NOT happened to me.) Women are extremely fertile while in the first couple of months postpartum. It's dangerous for the body to begin another pregnancy so quickly though - it can result in low birth weight, preterm birth, gestational diabetes, and some other nasty stuff. Very very important to use protection after giving birth.
