I'm 5 and a half months, sleeping on my back is uncomfortable. I read sleeping on your left is best and not on your right so I questioned this with my doc and he said to sleep on whatever side would feel best - there is no real harm to the baby.
I am 37 weeks and sometimes in my sleep I end up on my back. Last week I woke up gasping for air. So I wouldn't recommend it when your bigger.
You should be ok sleeping on your back until about 5 months along. If you feel dizzy or anything like that before then when you get up , you may need to stop. Your growing uterus puts pressure on your vena cava vein & can make you dizzy or lighthearted. Also it slows your blood circulation to your baby.
So I'm currently 6 months and ive only gain 10 pounds idk if that is good or bad
Yes it's okay and enjoy it while you can. I just recently started hurting and snoring from sleeping on my back so take advantage. Lol and I'm only 25w3d
My midwife told me it was fine to sleep on your back. There will probably come a time when it's too uncomfortable, but until then it's perfectly safe for you and baby. I'm 32 weeks and still occasionally sleep on my back (although I snore like crazy when I do) because my hips start to hurt from laying on my sides.
