swelling/turning purple ?

The past few weeks my feet have been turning purple and bright red as soon as I stand on them. I swell very badly and I'm concerned. I called the doctors and another doctor was on call and he simply said "it could be preaclampsia or a lot of other things but to just stay off my feet for a while. I've been trying to hold out for my doctors appointment which is next week. Anyone else had this happen ?

Swelling that much is not normal. Occasional swelling when you've been overly active is normal. Swelling as soon as you stand up not normal. Turning different colors is also not normal. Go get checked!

This is my second pregnancy with preeclamplsia and that sounds like really extreme swelling. I would definitely get seen to and not wait for your appointment.

Go to labor and delivery. Do not wait for your doctor to call you back! How far along are you?
