My baby is a week old. How selfish of me would it be to not allow anyone to visit him unless they get their shot?

I'm due in June and I've already informed my family that they have to have their shots before they hold my baby girl. I know that she will get a lot from my milk but it's still important to me. Most people have to have their shots as kids or as Military once you get them you don't have to get them again.

I understand fully. I just received my shot yesterday at my apt. It's great to have. Just make sure all the main people going to be around at least have had their flu shots. Make sure every single person washes their hands an doesn't kiss the baby on the mouth .. trust me I'm the saaaaaaaame way.

No not selfish!  Your baby!,  they are very delicate right now and can catch anything let alone not able to fight it off easily. They are so young and vulnerable.  Really up to you.  You'll get your haters question and putting you down.  This is something yoU cant really ask advice for as you'll get mixed answers.its more of, your the mom you know best for your baby! So you'll have to make that decision

Eventually the child is going to be around people that dont have all their immunizations. And if you breastfeed the baby gets most of the "immunizations" you have. How long do you plan on keeping people away for? And most people dont know what immunizations they do have. Just keep visitors to family and you will be fine
