too dorky?

So I'm definitely naming my daughter Natalie, after my mom. However, we're having a tough time with the middle name. We both really love Arwen, after the elvish princess from LOTR. But whenever we tell other people they're like "oh.. really?!?". Then most try to help us think up a more "normal" name... It's so frustrating and it's starting to get to me. Do you ladies think it's too much? Or should we stick with our gut decision? We don't even have a second favorite, we really love this name.

My name is Natalie lol but you do whatever you want with your middle name it doesn't matter as long as mom and dad are happy I love different and unique names too

Keep it. It's different and beautiful. If I'm having a girl I'm committed to a GOT name for a middle name, but not for that reason. Decided long before Iever watched GOT. I love the Dread Goddess and have the masculine form ready if it's a boy which is coincidentally also from a videogame... ^^; Yes,

You should keep Arwen. We are naming our daughter Korra after the legend of Korra the last avatar. My best friend middle name is Minette so we chose Korra Minette. My mom wants us to name her after her but we don't have a good relationship. So I understand how other people can influence your decision.

Why do people make such a big deal about middle names. Who cares what it is, how often do you hear a kid in school get called by their full name. As a preschool teacher let me tell you, NEVER. I barely knew the middle names of the kids in my class. Only my closest friend and husband know my middle name. If you like it go for it. People always want to put their input in, so they can feel apart of the process. Ignore them...

It's better than having it be a first name!  I absolutely love LOTR, btw.  If you truly think your daughter will love the name for her entire life, go for it and nevermind what other people think.

Keep it. Its just a middle name, if she ends up hating it she doesn't have to tell anyone it. Her first name is so beautiful that the middle name doesn't really even matter :)

LOTRs has a reputation for being nerdy, but the name Arwen is beautiful! Whether she or anyone likes LOTRs or not is not really applicable to whether Arwen is a nice name or not. I love it anyway and it flows really nicely with Natalie!

Keep Natalie, your child will thank you for her first name. As for her middle, that's tricky. You and hubby love LOTR, will your future daughter love that name for the rest of her life? If you think yes, then keep it. If you think no, then rethink your name choice.

Good luck, my hubby and I are still battling over middle names
